Interview Adam Rippon : "What is important to me is be able to put on a great performance"

2015 U.S National Champion and two times World Junior Champion, Adam Rippon is one of the most talented american figure skater.  Finished third  at Skate America and Trophée de France, he shares with us his feelings about this half season.

First, what is your feeling about Trophée de France regarding your performance ?
You know I want to keep by making step by step progress all along the season. So I am really happy with this competition landing the clean quad. I feel like I have the training very well. I am enjoying what I am doing. I like coming to the competition because it’s a chance for me to perform and enjoy all of that.

You also finished third at the Skate America, how do you felt during this competition ?
I think I have skated much better here I think I have more training than I have had you know more rampers and more experience under my belt into this competition. I want to take this. I want to take all of this and use it as my experience going to U.S Nationals.

You have a very personnal style, two beautiful  programs, can you tell us how do you choose and work on your programs this season and why do you choose that music ?
I am really lucky, I have an amazing team including Rafael, his wife, Nadia Conneva, my friend Benjamin Schimmer and Jeff Buttle. Those are the people I can trust with musical choices, things like that so I feel like I have been really lucky and I am surronded by really creative people. I think Jeff is amazing and Benjamin is not from the ice skating world, so it’s really fine to hold his perspective.

You will take part to the Grand Prix Final, on what will you focus to prepare it ?
What is important to me is be able to put on a great performance and that’s the most important thing to me. And you know I think a great performance includes great elements that makes the audience deep breathing in a way. So, when I am at home I practiced really hard and a lot of hours in order to come here and be effortless.

What are your goals this season ?

My number one goal is to continue to improve and enjoy what I am doing. And if I am able to do that I think I will be able to go to the Olympics. I have a two year planned now going to the Olympics. I think I am on the right track.  Everyday is not perfect but I just take one day at a time and try to do the most at each day.
